    Title: Beyond the FLSA Overtime Rule Changes: How the new salary minimum affects your compensation plan.

     

    Scott Nick will utilize his expertise in compensation to guide attendees through the compensation philosophy and salary structure effects of the FLSA overtime rule change that is set for December 1, 2016. While much has been written about the changes in the overtime exemption, Scott will conduct a town hall-style forum to ascertain how this change impacts your compensation planning and offer strategic suggestions.

     

    Topics will include:

    • A brief overview of the new salary threshold for exempt status and what must be done to be compliant by December 1, 2016.
    • Attendees will be able to share their concerns. The "pain-points" uncovered in discussion will provide the foundation for:
      • Making choices between adjusting pay to meet the new minimum and changing the employee's exemption status.
      • Addressing salary compression within your current if you are adjusting pay to meet the new minimum.
      • When does it make sense to make adjustments to your current paygrade structure or start over with a new system?
      • What can be done when some employees in a job role meet the new minimum and some do not?
    • Attendees will leave with a fuller understanding of the effects on compensation policies and practices and will have a method of evaluating their company's course of action as they prepare for December 1st.
