SPEAKERS: Doug Starr – President and Owner of ECCA, Inc.

Doug Starr is president and owner of ECCA Inc, a service-oriented technology company comprised of three product divisions that develops software solutions for human resources, insurance carriers, and food banks. In addition to his role at ECCA, Doug is the board president for the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest Pennsylvania and the vice chair of the Sight Center of Northwest PA.

Please join us as Sean Henderson and Kathy George of Spherion bring us a data driven presentation and discuss common issues around recruiting in a post/secondary pandemic world. This will be an interactive Q&A session where we can discuss common problems faced and how we may overcome these issues in our recruiting and retention processes and the grind associated with finding and retaining talent.

Paul Haupt - Program Specialist for the Erie Co. Dept of Human Services & Tom Wellington - Business Services Counselor for the PA Office of Vocational Rehabilitation Erie District office will present on the advantages of promoting competitive employment opportunities for individuals with an intellectual disability.

This presentation will discuss the advantages to the employee and the employer and will give a background to employment services, benefits, programs and agencies available through the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR) and Erie County.

Abby will identify onboarding best practices, recommend a process for onboarding new employees and explain how onboarding directly impacts other areas of HR.

Mark T. Wassell, Esq. is a Shareholder at Knox McLaughlin Gornall & Sennett, P.C. and counsels and defends employers in all aspects of labor and employment law. He represents employers in a range of sectors including manufacturing, financial services, healthcare and education. 

This program will consider the right of employers to regulate and/or discipline employees for engaging in certain conduct when not “on the clock.”  A number of common behaviors of employees that employers find offensive will be reviewed.
