    SPEAKER:         Patrick Malley

    Pat began his career with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) as an Investigator in 1991 in the Commission’s Washington, D.C., Field Office.  However, being a native of western Pennsylvania, he elected to transfer to the EEOC’s Pittsburgh Area Office in 1993.  He was promoted to the position of Mediator in 2021.  Pat holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from St. Vincent College in Latrobe, PA.

    TOPIC:               Mediating with the EEOC

    This presentation will cover the basics of mediation, how a case becomes eligible for mediation with the EEOC, the advantages of an employer agreeing to participate, what takes place during mediation, and the possible outcomes of mediation.

    SPEAKER:         Terrence Carr

    Terrence is a Program Analysist and Outreach and Education Coordinator with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. His duties include developing, planning, designing, directing, and executing a comprehensive outreach, training and technical assistance program to staff, employers, respondents, charging parties, and the general public in Northeast Ohio, Western Pennsylvania, West Virginia and surrounding areas. Terrence holds the following degrees and certifications:  BS in Engineering Administration/Management, Park University, Associate, Business Management, Vernon College, Associate, Instructional Systems Development, Community College of the Air Force, Graduate Certificate Project Management 360, Cornell University, Graduate Certificate Lean Six Sigma, Villanova University, Graduate Certificate Agile Management, Villanova University, Master Instructor Certification – USAF.

    TOPIC:               EEOC Overview & Hot Topics

    This presentation will cover EEOC Basics, Relevant laws, Retaliation, Protected categories, Covered employers, Covered job decisions.  Hot topics to be discussed:  Charge statistics, ‘Know Your Rights’ poster, Pregnant Worker Fairness Act, AI and its Impacts.
